
CN Group is an independent local media business based in Carlisle. The Group operates with
three Divisions.
PUBLISHING
The Publishing Division publish daily and weekly newspapers in Cumbria, Northumberland and south west Scotland, as well as a county magazine, business monthly newspaper and local directories. Reader holidays, market research and door-to-door distribution are further services available from the Division. All titles have linked websites and all aspects of electronic publishing are handled by the Division.
RADIO
The Division operates seven radio stations and has an interest in another one. The stations
are Belfast City Beat, The Bay (Morecambe Bay), Touch 962 FM (Coventry),
Touch 102 FM (Stratford-upon-Avon), Touch FM (Tamworth, Lichfield/Burton-on-Trent),
Rugby FM and Lakeland FM (Kendal). The Group has recently won the licence for Touch 107.6
FM and Warwick due to be launched mid 2008. . The stations are
all music based, but also include local news, weather and information.
PRINT
The Division operates two state-of-the-art printing
presses in Carlisle and Barrow. It trades under
the name 'Cumbrian Newsprint'. They print the
Group’s own titles, but the majority
of the capacity
is used to print external
customer titles. Customers
includeother publishers and
specialist
magazine-style publishers.
The Group has a small
headquarters staff in
Carlisle
and is led by Robin Burgess,
Chief Executive, who is the
fourth generation of
his family
to be involved in the business.
